Condition (used): generally fair for age in poor/barely fair box (see below) - this seems to be largely complete although the quantity of miscellaneous counters that arrived with this game may or may not be original, this set includes the following elements: 1 x large folding board, 6 x diecast metal (flats) motor car playing pieces, 2 x bone dice, 6 cards, a quantity of various sized, mostly early plastic and some bone counters and an instructions leaflet - the box is quite worn with some edge/corner wear, there are four damaged corners to the lid with three to the tray, there are two rips to the side of the lid and one to the tray, the tray has some paper separation (including some ripping) along most of the edges, the lid has some minor patches where the outer paper layer has worn away, the box also has general marks/wear/grubbiness, the instructions leaflet is a little worn with some light creasing, grubbiness and minor discolouration/tanning, the board was originally hinged in the middle with a cloth strip, this has now largely disappeared and the two sides are separated, otherwise the board is in fairly good shape, the counters are mostly okay with some discoloured pieces and general marks and wear, the cards are quite good although the spare wheel card has some sticker residue, the metal motor cars are quite good apart from a little paint loss and that four of them have some slight damage to their stands, the dice are a little worn, otherwise the contents are generally fair with fairly minor marks commensurate with age and use.
Identifying marks or labels etc: "WS B (logo) ....Werner & Schumann's Games .... Made in Germany....No 2336" on box lid.
Other information: an interesting and incredibly rare old game about which have been able to learn very little (or to be quite honest, nothing), it has some striking period art work on the board and a particularly attractive illustration to the box lid - we are uncertain of the exact age of this item but it would be fair to suggest that it is Edwardian (circa 1910s) and since it was made in Germany, probably pre World War 1 - may be of some interest to a collector.
