Condition (used): generally fair/good for age in fair box (see below) - apart from the board this game is complete - this set includes the following elements: 2 wooden dice; 6 coloured card tokens on coloured wooden bases; 32 wooden houses; 12 wooden hotels; 16 salmon Chance Cards; 16 pink Community Chest Cards; 28 Title Deeds Cards including BR stations; a good quantity of uncounted play money; 1 salmon pink instructions leaflet - the box is a little worn with some fairly minor to moderate corner/edge wear and general moderate marks / grubbiness / wear / discolouration including a little patch of price sticker damage to lid and some fairly minor displacement of the internal dividers, the instructions sheet is a little worn with folds and minor creasing, two of the houses are somewhat worn and one is a different colour green (probably from an earlier pre-war game), the dice are slightly mismatched so one is perhaps non-original, the car token's wooden base has been replaced by a home made substitute, otherwise the contents are not too bad with minor marks commensurate with age and use.

Identifying marks or labels etc:  "Monopoly Pat4ent 453689 Manufactured In Great Britain By John Waddington Ltd London & Leeds".

Other information:   great old game from Waddington's, these particular "austerity" sets are generally but not always defined as follows: comes in mini box 16.1 x 19.2 x 2.6 cm with separate board and marked "Patent No. 453689", published in 1948 by John Waddington Ltd, post-war the tokens had wooden feet and were used for some time, the later versions however had coloured timber feet, the stations are British Railways, the Chance cards are orange through, the Community Chest cards are blue through, the circle on the banknotes is under the large number mentioned patent no. 453689, the tokens are flat cardboard figures on a base of coloured timber. The figures are: hat - iron - car - boat - shoe and rocking-horse, the houses and hotels are of dull wood". In this set there is a very unusual version of the instructions leaflet in that it is a salmon pink colour instead of plain white, also the Chance & Community Chestcards do not conform to the above characteristics,  this item dates to circa 1948 - may be of some interest to a collector.
